Joanne Giesbrecht is a representational artist, who has recently moved from Vancouver Island on the West Coast of Canada to a small prairie town situated at the foothills of the majestic Rocky Mountains in Alberta. Mostly self-taught, Joanne's art is inspired by her love of light, color and nature. Her subjects range from people and pets to birds, flowers and water. The importance of light and color are evident in all her work, and you will often find both realism and an element of the abstract within Joanne's paintings. Joanne is privileged to be represented by Canada's largest art gallery, Koyman Galleries, Ottawa, Canada. She also sells from her studio, and welcomes commission work.
